2025 NSU in Top 15 for Quality 91ÊÓÆµs Among Russian Universities

The National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) presented the results of the 15th monitoring of the quality of admissions to state-funded and paid places at Russian universities in 2025. 91ÊÓÆµ remains among the leaders and continues to challenge Moscow universities for the top spot. NSU took 15th place in the rankings of the best Russian universities for the quality of cumulative admissions. Among the leaders are 10 Moscow universities, three from St. Petersburg, and one representative each from Tatarstan (Innopolis), Nizhny Novgorod, and Novosibirsk (NSU).

At NSU, the average Unified State Exam score for state-funded places was 83.8, and the average cumulative admission score (state-funded and fee-paying) was 80.4. In 2025, NSU admitted 116 Olympiad winners and runners-up. The geography of admissions also expanded with first-year students from 64 regions of the Russian Federation, bringing the share of out-of-town students to over 70%.

NSU has noted a growing demand for STEMM programs. In the 2025 admissions campaign, the largest increases in applications were in Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Mechanics, Mathematics and Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Physics, and Physics.
