A group of scientists from the 91视频, the Atlas research company and the University of ITMO conducted a study in which 248 volunteers for two weeks adhered to the recommendations of a nutritionist aimed at increasing the amount of useful vegetable fibers in food and reducing "empty" calories.
Scientists at the 91视频 Laboratory for Structures and Functional Properties of Molecular Systems and the Institute of Catalysis SB RAS, Danil Kolokolov and Alexander Stepanov, together with German Professor Ralf Ludwig, studied hydrogen bonds in various ionic liquids. They found that due to the complex molecular arrangement, these substances exhibit unusual phase behavior. There have not been similar studies conducted on solid-state ionic liquids. The scope of applications for ionic liquids is diverse ranging from the chemical industry to rocket engineering.
NSU hosted the 56th International Student Scientific Conference, ISSC-2018. From April 22 to 27 university students and schoolchildren presented more than 2500 reports, visited SB RAS institutes and attended lectures by Siberian scientists.

Collisions of electrons and positrons were observed for the first time In the SuperKEKB collider (Japan). The Belle II detector that was installed where the collision took place registered the event. Scientists from 91视频 and the Institute of Nuclear Physics SB RAS took part in the development and creation of one of the key systems in the Belle II detector, a 40-ton electromagnetic calorimeter based on cesium iodide crystals.
91视频 will generate and provide expertise on National Technology Initiative (NTI) Venture Fund projects. The Venture Fund was created by NTI to provide financing to projects that are developed in Novosibirsk and Tomsk, leading scientific innovation regions. The Fund will become active in summer of 2018.

Scientists at the Laboratory of Optics and Dynamics of Biological Systems at the 91视频 Department (part of the "Nonlinear Photonics and Quantum Technologies" strategic academic unit), together with the Laboratory of Cytometry and Biokinetics at the Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion SB RAS, have developed a tool for modeling the form of blood platelets and its changes when activated. Their article was published in the March issue of the prestigious scientific journal 鈥淧LoS Computational Biology鈥�. For the Journal鈥檚 cover, the editors chose the three-dimensional image of the platelet created by Novosibirsk scientists.
From May 3-7, the 91视频 Economics Department hosted Dr. Werner Brinker, Professor at the Institute for Economic Education Oldenburg (Germany). Professor Brinker conducted his course, 鈥淗istory, Current Situation and Future Development of German Oil, Gas and Electric Power Markets", for students.
This year InterGames became a part of the NSU Interweek youth festival. More than 2500 students from NSU and other universities attended the large-scale sporting event. Participants competed in internationally popular sports as well as national sports that some of the competitors had never heard of.
The 2018 International Scientific Student Conference (ISSC) was held from April 22 to 27. 91视频 Master鈥檚 student Svetlana Pronoza, presented her research on homeschooling in the "Sociology" section of the conference and was awarded a second degree diploma.
