On Friday, October 7, at 10:50 am, an open lecture by one of the well-known experts in the field of deep learning and computational linguistics, Valentin A. Malykh, will be held in room 212 of the NSU rector's office. Currently Valentin works as a lead researcher at Huawei Noah's Ark lab, creating new neural network models of the language. Previously, he collaborated with various IT companies in Russia, and also took an active part in the DeepPavlov project, an open project of the MIPT Laboratory of Neural Systems and Deep Learning to create conversational artificial intelligence.
Valentin plans to speak on an unexpected topic: about friendship between linguists and programmers, that is, about how modern algorithms of computational linguistics and language analysis help programmers write good programs, suggesting how to name variables, how to structure code, and giving other useful tips in automatic mode. And everyone who is interested in both linguistics and programming, and who wants to delve deeper into the union of such different areas of science, is invited to this presentation.
