From October 24 to October 28, the XXIII All-Russian Mathematical Modeling and Information Technologies Conference for Young Scientists was held at the Federal Research Center for Information and Computing Technologies. It was attended by more than 120 young scientists from 18 cities including Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Surgut, Ufa etc. Participants discussed current research results by young researchers, graduate students, and senior students in the fields of mathematical modeling, artificial intelligence problems, high-performance computing, information processing, protection and storage, and others.
Among the participants and Conference winners were 24 NSU researchers and students including Stepan Karmushin, a 1st-year Master's student at the . His work is devoted to mathematical modeling of the rheology of non-Newtonian viscoelastic fluids that are used in oil production.
Karmushin shared his impressions of the Conference,
Personally, my goal was not to receive a winner’s diploma but to share the results of my work, listen to my colleagues' results, and discuss them together. The atmosphere was exceptionally friendly. The participants got to know each other, exchanged contacts, and maybe someday in the future we will conduct joint research. Of course, I did feel the competition because most of the researchers had very strong work. Being a winner made me feel that I am moving in the right direction.
