In Novosibirsk, for the fifth anniversary, the solemn ceremony of presenting the 鈥淩ecognition of Childhood鈥� award was held. The award was established by the Junior Palace of Creativity with the support of the Department of Education of the Novosibirsk City Hall. The purpose of the award is to recognize and encourage those who have made a significant contribution to additional education and upbringing of children. The prize is awarded in 11 categories.
This year, the winner in the category 鈥淪cientist of the Year according to young Novosibirsk residents鈥� was the Deputy Director of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Timur Rinatovich Nasybullov.
鈥淭he Palace of Creativity 鈥淛unior鈥� is an amazing place. They do a lot for school education in Novosibirsk and the region. We, as the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of NSU, began to systematically work with them only this year. We understand that to develop mathematics we need to work with young people, starting from school years. I am very pleased to receive this award. I take it as a sign that we are moving in the right direction.鈥�
This year the prize was also awarded to the former mayor of the Novosibirsk region Anatoly Evgenievich Lokot and the minister of science and innovation policy of the Novosibirsk region Vasiliev Vadim Vitalievich. Previous winners of the award include pilot Oleg Volobuev, deputy chairman of the council of deputies Nikolai Tyamin, director of the Novosibirsk zoo Andrey Shilo and others.
