The Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok continues to cooperate with schools and institutions of additional education in the Novosibirsk region.
In early November, fourth-year students of
Boltunov Timofey and
Shadrina Angela, together with student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences
Sofia Korotkova, held a natural science vacation school in the village of Kyshtovka. Students shared their knowledge of olympiad and university mathematics and biology with schoolchildren in grades 7鈥�11.
鈥淭his time, our friendly student group of three people were the only teachers in this kind of school. This is both responsibility and influence, and a very unifying event for all of us. We gave the children our experience, our love for mathematics and were inspired by their interest and the work of their minds visible right on their faces,鈥� shares Timofey.
鈥淭he guys are smart and interested, they absorbed the information usually given in the first years of mechanics and mathematics. It鈥檚 a pity that there are few teachers, I would like there to be more different directions,鈥� says Angela.
鈥淭he Altair Regional Educational Center often invites my colleagues and me to speak to teachers. We talk about the activities of the Center and invite you to cooperate. It was thanks to such a meeting that teachers from the village of Kyshtovka approached us in the spring. As a result, cooperation began. We held a summer and autumn school for children from the Kyshtovsky district. I am glad that we are able to attract children from the districts to the Olympiad activities and thereby motivate them to do mathematics,鈥� says ICA Deputy Director
